Plan work schedules and co-ordinate production
Co-ordinate production through various departments / sections
Ensure that production targets are achieved with respect to quantity and quality
Undertake and manage the implementation of TQM and other continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and cost savings
Manage and ensure the reduction in spoilage and/or wastage
Continuously monitor and report on, and take the appropriate action when required, with regards to production costs and variances to budget
Ensure and manage preventive maintenance schedules on an ongoing basis
Support in installation and commissioning of machines, equipment in the production department.
2. Quality Assurance
Maintain and improve quality standards.
Undertake to minimize maintenance problems / down-time through the effective utilisation of preventative methods and skilled staff
3. Budgets
Establish and maintain production operating budgets
Forecast production department capital expenditure budgets
Percentage cost savings through improved efficiency
Will be trained on budget process. Should be able to understand what the budget is, Should be able to compare and control actual usage w.r.t budget. Should be capable to identify the cause of higher usage and be able to identify improvement opportunities
4. Staff Management & Development
Administration of the factory in the shift
Establish, implement and maintain a personal developmental plan for all key production personnel
The person must be willing to work in shifts.

B.E. Mechanical/Production or Industrial from IIT, REC/NIT or from similar engineering colleges.
